The challenge
AppNote needed more than a marketing page. The product itself had to exist: a native macOS app people would actually use, plus a site that explained it and sent visitors to the Mac App Store.
Our approach
We designed and built both. The application is a quiet menu-bar overlay that follows the frontmost app — press a shortcut, capture the thought, keep working. Notes stay on the Mac: no accounts, no analytics. Alongside it we shipped the product website at appnote.app, with the same story, screenshots, and a clear path to download.
The application, not just the site
ByteWave built the Mac app end to end: menu-bar overlay, per-app notebooks, categories (Note, Todo, Idea, Bug, Reference), search, and a customisable shortcut. Switch apps and AppNote follows — a bug captured in the editor stays with the editor, not in a generic inbox.
A site that sells the product
The website matches the app: how it works, feature screenshots, specs (macOS 14+, local storage, no tracking), and a direct Mac App Store download. One team owned the product and the page that launches it.
